About the Event
AARP Rhode Island’s Cooking Around the World series continues with two dishes to celebrate June as Caribbean American Heritage Month. Chef Mary Weaver, owner of the culinary school Newport Cooks, will prepare Caribbean Salmon Salad with Mango Dressing and Ginger Pineapple Granita, a popular frozen dessert in the Islands.
June is also Alzheimer's and Brain Health Awareness Month, and these Caribbean recipes feature brain-healthy ingredients such as salmon, avocado and pistachios. The recipes will be sent to registrants in advance via confirmation and reminder emails.
